About Blanks | Unique Notebooks from Old Book Covers

From an old book to a new notebook

About Blanks makes notebooks out of the cover of an old book. The text block is taken out and the cover is rebound with blank sketch paper in a light cream shade. The paper comes from responsible sources (FSC), because sustainability matters to About Blanks. It has no lines, so it works for writing just as well as for drawing. A book nobody read any more is given a new purpose: a notebook for your notes or sketches.

There is only one of every book

Because every About Blanks is made from a different book, no two notebooks are the same. Nor in size. The dimensions are listed with every book, and the first photograph is always of that very copy. So you see exactly which book you are getting. Once a book is sold it does not come back into stock: every book is one of a kind.

Made in a sheltered workshop

The books are bound by hand in a sheltered workshop, where people with a disability or poor job prospects are employed. That gives About Blanks a social character alongside the sustainable one. Small irregularities come with handwork, and that is precisely the charm. About Blanks comes from Rotterdam and turns on a single idea: reuse what is already there. In the shop you will find this brand under Accessories, with the Stationery.
