Designmarket.today is a continuation of our store Conflict Designmarket in the centre of Maastricht.

Shop Identity by Boy Bastiaens: design baby carrier and tape
Shop Identity by Boy Bastiaens: design flyer and business card
After having run this shop with great pleasure for 15 years, we felt the time was ripe for a new challenge. With an eye to the future, we decided to close our shop and go online.

In September 2020, our store Conflict Designmarket came to an end, and our new webshop Designmarket.today was born. A partly modified name, but with the same beautiful logo - which we are still very happy with after more than 15 years! - and in the same recognizable house style. And of course also with a unique range of contemporary design items and home accessories.

Presentation 'Reading Bags' Boy Bastiaens
Since the beginning of Conflict Designmarket, Boy Bastiaens (stormhand.com) has been responsible for the graphic work, such as the design of the logo, carrier bags and the store identity. Check out his work for Conflict Designmarket on the website of stormhand.com here.
In 2014 Centre Ceramique presented the exhibition 'Branding Boy Bastiaens'. An overview of the work and projects he has done over the years for brands such as Atelier LaDurance, Karl Lagerfeld, Australian eva. Of course we were very proud that Conflict Designmarket was also represented in the exhibition. Check out the exhibition on the website of stormhand.com here.
From the banners that were used for this exhibition, 'Reading Bags' were made afterwards in collaboration with Atelier GP. Large bags for the interior, in which parts of the different logos are visible. The presentation took place in Conflict Designmarket.
Presentation Dirk Ploos van Amstel - Door handle "Shut the Door, Have a Seat", April-May 2015
With his design of the door handle "Shut the Door, have a Seat" Dirk Ploos van Amstel won the Design Competition Biennale Interieur 2014 in Kortrijk. An innovative design, in which the emphasis is placed on the mechanism by bringing it outside and making it visible, instead of hiding it in the door.
This design was first presented in Milan during the Salone del Mobile 2014 and was later put into production by the Italian manufacturer Kleis. In April 2015 Dirk Ploos van Amstel presented his design at Conflict Designmarket. Check out "Shut the Door, Have a Seat" on Dirk Ploos van Amstel's website here.
