Braun BC26-DCF Analogue Wall Clock | Radio Controlled | White

The Braun BC26-DCF is a radio controlled wall clock 23 centimetres across with a continuous movement: the second hand glides smoothly across the dial instead of jumping once a second. The clock therefore makes no ticking sound. The dial looks calm, with contrasting hands whose tips glow in the dark. The yellow second hand distinguishes Braun's clocks.

No ticking

An ordinary quartz movement steps the second hand forward once a second, and you hear it. This movement carries the hand round in one flowing motion, with nothing to hear. You forget the clock is on the wall. It keeps a bedroom or a study quiet.

Radio controlled, and what that means

The clock picks up the time from the atomic clock in Frankfurt, via the DCF signal. That works within a radius of roughly 1,500 kilometres around Frankfurt, so in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Denmark, Switzerland and northern Italy.
