Braun Analogue Alarm Clock BC07-DCF | Radio Controlled | Black

The Braun BC07-DCF is an analog radio-controlled alarm clock. Its sleek and elegant design is characteristic of Braun's design tradition. The clear dial and contrasting luminous hands ensure excellent readability. It features a very quiet and accurate quartz movement, as well as a snooze function and a night light function. The on/off button for these functions is subtly integrated into the base of the alarm clock and is activated by pressing the top of the clock.

Radio-controlled clock

The correct time is retrieved four times a day via the DCF signal from the Atomic Clock in Frankfurt. It is suitable for countries in the Central European time zone within a 1,500 km radius around Frankfurt: this includes countries such as the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Denmark, Switzerland, and Northern Italy.

Braun and Dieter Rams

Braun's design is inextricably linked to Dieter Rams, who was Braun's head of design for 40 years. He is considered the most influential designer of the 20^th century. Many of his designs are classics. He was also one of the first designers who strived to produce environmentally friendly designs. He believed that "design can and should continue to contribute to the protection and preservation of the environment."
His design philosophy is best expressed in his most famous quote: “Less but better.” This applies both to the clear design and to his pursuit of a world with fewer, but better products.
