Braun Alarm Clock Digital BC24-DCF | Radio Controlled | White

Braun Alarm Clock BC24-DCF is a digital radio-controlled alarm clock. Its minimalist design is entirely in line with Braun's Bauhaus tradition. A distinctive feature of this alarm clock is the rotatable ring, which can be used to set both the time and the alarm. Turning the ring clockwise advances the time/alarm. Turning the ring counter-clockwise sets the time/alarm backward.

Radio-controlled clock

The Braun BC24-DCF is radio-controlled for the Central European time zone. The clock is set automatically, so it always displays the correct time. (The Central European Time Zone covers most of Central and Western Europe, including Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Switzerland, Northern Italy, etc. Not suitable for use in Great Britain or Ireland.) The radio-controlled function can be switched off so that the clock can be set manually for use in countries where the radio-controlled signal cannot be received.
It also features a snooze function, light function, crescendo beep alarm, negative LCD display, and 12/24 hour setting.

Braun and Dieter Rams

Braun's design is inextricably linked with Dieter Rams, who was head of design at Braun for 40 years. He is considered the most influential designer of the 20th century. Many of his designs are classics. He was also one of the first designers who strived to produce environmentally friendly designs. He believed that "design can and must continue to contribute to the protection and preservation of the environment."

His design philosophy is best expressed in his most famous statement: "Less but better." This applies both to the clear design and to his pursuit of a world with fewer, but better products.
