Braun Alarm Clock Digital BC09-DCF | Radio Controlled | Grey

The Braun BC09 is a practical digital alarm clock, equipped with many features. For example, it is radio-controlled, so it always displays the correct time. It features a crescendo alarm, snooze function, light function (LCD backlight) via a touch button on the top, and 12-hour and 24-hour options.
Braun's timeless Bauhaus tradition is beautifully expressed in the design of this minimalist digital alarm clock. It is a winner of a Red Dot Design Award 2020.

Radio-controlled clock

Via the DCF signal from the Atomic Clock in Frankfurt, the correct time is retrieved 4 times a day. It is suitable for countries in the Central European time zone within a radius of 1,500 km around Frankfurt: this includes countries such as the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Denmark, Switzerland, and Northern Italy. The radio-controlled function can also be switched off for use in countries where the radio-controlled signal cannot be received, and the clock can be set manually.

Braun and Dieter Rams

Braun's design is inextricably linked to Dieter Rams, who was Braun's head of design for 40 years. He is considered the most influential designer of the 20^th century. Many of his designs are classics. He was also one of the first designers who strived to produce environmentally friendly designs. He believed that "design can and should continue to contribute to the protection and preservation of the environment."
His design philosophy is best expressed in his most famous statement: "Less but better." This applies both to the clear design and to his pursuit of a world with fewer, but better products.
