How the Bottle Boat came to be

A summer day in France, along the river. From washed-up debris – a plastic bottle, a plastic bag, some twigs – the characteristic shape of a sailboat emerged while crafting. Playing children immediately recognized the silhouette and gratefully took it with them. From this intuitive design, the bottle boat has gained its stylized form.

An empty (shampoo) bottle as a hull, a colorful sail in a spool, two elastic bands. Partly reuse, but not designed with sustainability in mind... Here, everything revolves around semantics; the art of using objects in a different way and seeing them as building blocks for creating new forms and objects.
