Fish Jug with Sound | Water Jug Denim | Gluckigluck

The Gluckigluck is a porcelain water jug shaped like a fish. This jug makes a gurgling sound as you pour. The name Gluckigluck — or Gluggle Jug, as it is also known — comes from that “Glug-Glug”. This version is Denim, a blue-grey shade. The jug holds 1.2 litres — enough for four glasses.

The sound

As you pour, the water runs along the hollow shape of the fish, producing a deep, gurgling “Glug-Glug”. It sounds best when the jug is about three quarters full. You hear it again as you set it down. It is a sound that never fails to draw attention at the table and surprises every time. It raises a smile. Children love it too. Only the original makes the “Glug-Glug”.

Denim

Denim is a blue-grey shade, like a pair of jeans that has been worn a while. The grey softens the blue, making the colour quieter than the strong cobalt blue in the range. That lets it suit almost any table — while the shape still draws the eye.

Since the 1870s, made by hand

The design has been around for more than a hundred and fifty years and is still made by hand in Stoke-on-Trent, the pottery region of England. Every jug passes through six pairs of hands before it is finished, is fired twice at 1200 degrees and then given a glossy glaze. On the base is a stamp by which you recognise the original.

Not only for water

The Gluckigluck is not only a water jug. Its distinctive shape makes it an eye-catcher, so it works just as well as a vase, or as a holder for kitchen utensils beside the hob. On the table, on a sideboard or in the kitchen: it looks right anywhere and draws attention everywhere.

Why only the XL

The Gluckigluck comes in three sizes: XL, L and Mini. We carry only the XL, because it is the only one that really works as a water jug. Despite the name the L is considerably smaller — 22 cm high, holding 0.6 litres — and makes a less deep sound. The Mini is meant for milk for coffee, or as a small vase for a single flower. The size names are confusing, and to keep you from ending up with a jug that turns out too small, we offer just the one.

We aim to deliver your order quickly. Orders placed on weekdays before 4 PM will be shipped the same day, unless otherwise stated. Sometimes delivery may be delayed, for example if a product is out of stock. In that case, we will inform you as soon as possible and you can cancel if you wish.

Within the Netherlands, shipping is free from €49,-, otherwise it costs €4,95. Returns cost €3,95. In Belgium and Germany, shipping is free from €69,-, otherwise it costs €4,95, and returns cost €4,95.

Returns within the Netherlands cost €3.95. You can cancel your order up to 14 days after receipt without giving a reason via the email from our shipping partner Sendcloud. This email contains a link to the return portal, where you can create a return label.
After cancellation, you have another 14 days to return the product at a PostNL point. You will receive the full order amount back, excluding any shipping costs to the customer. The product must be returned with all accessories and, if possible, in its original condition and packaging. We will refund the amount within 14 days of receiving the return shipment. For other European countries, a return fee applies, calculated via the Sendcloud link.
