Lexon Mina Large Rechargeable LED Table Lamp | Dark Blue

The Mina Large is a rechargeable table lamp from the French design brand Lexon. At just under eighteen centimetres tall, the Large is the biggest of the three. This cordless lamp can be set to nine colours of light: warm white and cool white plus seven more colours, all of them steplessly dimmable. Where the Small is a mood light and the Medium fits on a bedside table, this one gives enough light for a dining table or a reading corner.

Nine colours, and one button

The whole top of the lamp doubles as the control. Press it to switch the lamp on, and press again to cycle through the colours. Hold your finger on it to dim, and let go at the brightness you want. Everything sits in that one button: switching on, choosing a colour and dimming all happen with one hand, even in the dark.

Or white only, if you prefer

Press three times in quick succession and it skips the colours, switching only between warm and cool white. The same action brings the nine colours back.

Twenty-four hours on one charge

Lexon counts on twenty-four hours of light, measured at 75% brightness at room temperature. There are two ways to charge it: with the supplied USB-C cable in about four hours, or wirelessly on a QI charger in six hours. A wireless charger is not included. The white light beside the port flashes while charging and stays on once it is full; when the battery is nearly empty, that same light flashes for a few minutes.

It can go outside too

The housing is IPX4: protected against splashing water and a rain shower, so it is at home outside on the garden table or by the barbecue. Being submerged, in a swimming pool for instance, is more than it can take. Charge it only with an adapter that supplies 5 V and 1 A; a heavier adapter can damage the electronics.
