Miniature Cyclist Silver | the Rider | Bernard & Eddy

This miniature cyclist from the Belgian brand Bernard & Eddy has been left unpainted: silver-coloured metal, just as the figurine comes out of the mould. He is 54 millimetres tall and cast in a zinc alloy. Small enough to work as decoration on a bookshelf or windowsill, and heavy enough to stay put wherever you set him down. An ideal gift for anyone who loves cycling.

No jersey

Every other rider in this collection wears a jersey: a national colour, a leader's jersey, the rainbow. Not this one. Without paint you see only the form — the position on the bike, the folds in the jersey, the detail left by the mould. What disappears under the colours on the other figurines is the subject here.

A trophy

The silver turns it into a prize all by itself. Put it on your desk after a good ride, give it away as a memento of a route you rode together, or use it as a travelling trophy in your own club competition. It is the only rider in the collection that is not riding for something, but standing for something.

The Rider

This is the Rider: upright in the saddle, hands on the bars, turning the pedals steadily. It is the calmest of the five positions, and the one that lets you build a convincing peloton. Alongside the Rider there are the Sprinter, the Climber, the Winner and the Thirsty One.

Put the silver one at the head of a peloton in colour: then he is the winner and the rest are the field. That works better the more riders stand behind him. The more riders, the more it starts to look like a real bike race.

About Bernard & Eddy

Miniature riders first appeared in the 1930s, when the organisers of the Tour de France wanted to put the national teams in the spotlight with a publicity caravan. They were largely forgotten by the start of this century, until Bernard & Eddy brought the tradition back. There are no sponsors or logos on these riders, only countries and symbolic jerseys. “Long live the flags”, as the brand puts it.

We aim to deliver your order quickly. Orders placed on weekdays before 4 PM will be shipped the same day, unless otherwise stated. Sometimes delivery may be delayed, for example if a product is out of stock. In that case, we will inform you as soon as possible and you can cancel if you wish.

Within the Netherlands, shipping is free from €49,-, otherwise it costs €4,95. Returns cost €3,95. In Belgium and Germany, shipping is free from €69,-, otherwise it costs €4,95, and returns cost €4,95.

Returns within the Netherlands cost €3.95. You can cancel your order up to 14 days after receipt without giving a reason via the email from our shipping partner Sendcloud. This email contains a link to the return portal, where you can create a return label.
After cancellation, you have another 14 days to return the product at a PostNL point. You will receive the full order amount back, excluding any shipping costs to the customer. The product must be returned with all accessories and, if possible, in its original condition and packaging. We will refund the amount within 14 days of receiving the return shipment. For other European countries, a return fee applies, calculated via the Sendcloud link.
