Miniature Cyclist Yellow Jersey | the Climber | Bernard & Eddy

This miniature cyclist from the Belgian brand Bernard & Eddy wears the yellow jersey of the Tour de France. He is out of the saddle, on a climb. The Climber

This is the Climber: out of the saddle, weight on the pedals, the way a rider takes a steep ramp. Of the five riding positions the Bernard & Eddy riders come in, this is the only one where he stands upright — the counterpart to the Sprinter, who makes himself as small as he can.

The yellow jersey

Yellow is the colour of the leader in the general classification of the Tour de France. The jersey dates from 1919 and owes its colour to the yellow paper of L'Auto, the newspaper that organised the race. The Tour is decided in the mountains, so the yellow jersey on a Climber is the image of the day the race is won.

Christopher

Every cyclist by Bernard & Eddy carries a first name. Do you know who this one is? Christopher refers to Chris Froome, who won the Tour de France four times. He also took the Giro and La Vuelta — all three grand tours.

The yellow jersey comes in three positions: as the Rider on the road, the Climber in the mountains and the Winner over the line. Line them up and you have the whole Tour in one colour. The more riders, the more it starts to look like a real bike race.

About Bernard & Eddy

Miniature riders first appeared in the 1930s, when the organisers of the Tour de France wanted to put the national teams in the spotlight with a publicity caravan. They were largely forgotten by the start of this century, until Bernard & Eddy brought the tradition back. There are no sponsors or logos on these riders, only countries and symbolic jerseys. “Long live the flags”, as the brand puts it.

We aim to deliver your order quickly. Orders placed on weekdays before 4 PM will be shipped the same day, unless otherwise stated. Sometimes delivery may be delayed, for example if a product is out of stock. In that case, we will inform you as soon as possible and you can cancel if you wish.

Within the Netherlands, shipping is free from €49,-, otherwise it costs €4,95. Returns cost €3,95. In Belgium and Germany, shipping is free from €69,-, otherwise it costs €4,95, and returns cost €4,95.

Returns within the Netherlands cost €3.95. You can cancel your order up to 14 days after receipt without giving a reason via the email from our shipping partner Sendcloud. This email contains a link to the return portal, where you can create a return label.
After cancellation, you have another 14 days to return the product at a PostNL point. You will receive the full order amount back, excluding any shipping costs to the customer. The product must be returned with all accessories and, if possible, in its original condition and packaging. We will refund the amount within 14 days of receiving the return shipment. For other European countries, a return fee applies, calculated via the Sendcloud link.
