Rechargeable Table Lamp House | Sompex Lumicasa | Black

The Lumicasa by the German brand Sompex is a rechargeable table lamp shaped like a small metal house. Pitched roof, chimney, exactly the way a child would draw it. The whole front is made of acrylic, and that is where the light comes out. In black the contrast is at its strongest – a crisp silhouette by day, and in the evening a lit facade that stands out sharply against the dark metal. A cordless lamp barely fifteen centimetres tall that you can put wherever you like: on your bedside table, on the windowsill or in the middle of the dinner table. Because it needs no cord anywhere, it also makes a good housewarming gift.

On and off through the chimney

The control is hidden in the chimney. One touch turns the lamp on, and the same button dims it steplessly from a soft glow to full strength. The lamp remembers your last setting, so next time it comes on exactly the way you left it. That makes it a good dimmable bedside lamp as well.

Warm white or fourteen colours

The Lumicasa gives warm white light from 2200 to 3000 kelvin, and on top of that it has fourteen coloured settings. So you can give it an outspoken colour for a party, or pick a quiet tone that sits well with the rest of your interior. At 200 lumens it gives enough light to bring atmosphere to a corner of the room.

Put your own words on the facade

You can place a clear lettered foil on the acrylic facade, and the lettering then appears lit up on the front of the house. The foil clings by itself as you put it on. Swapping is easy and done in seconds, with no glue and no tools. There are three different foil sets: two with five ready-made sayings – such as Home Sweet Home, Be Happy and Think Positive – and a set of blank foils with a pen, for writing or drawing your own. That way the lamp changes with the season, with a birthday or with whoever is coming over.

Days of light without a socket

A full battery lasts between 7 and 148 hours, depending on how bright you set it. Charging takes five hours with the USB-C cable that comes with it, and the battery is replaceable, so the lamp outlasts its own battery. On the back there is a wall mount, so you can hang it up as well – a floating point of light against a dark wall.

About Sompex

Sompex was founded in 1948 by Rolf O. Burghard in Soest, Germany. The company soon moved to Düsseldorf, where it is still based today. What started as trade in Scandinavian design grew into a lighting collection of its own. Sompex was the first in Europe to bring LED candles to market and is now best known for its range of rechargeable lamps that you can put anywhere, with no cord. The family business is now run by the third generation, under the motto Design for Life.

We aim to deliver your order quickly. Orders placed on weekdays before 4 PM will be shipped the same day, unless otherwise stated. Sometimes delivery may be delayed, for example if a product is out of stock. In that case, we will inform you as soon as possible and you can cancel if you wish.

Within the Netherlands, shipping is free from €49,-, otherwise it costs €4,95. Returns cost €3,95. In Belgium and Germany, shipping is free from €69,-, otherwise it costs €4,95, and returns cost €4,95.

Returns within the Netherlands cost €3.95. You can cancel your order up to 14 days after receipt without giving a reason via the email from our shipping partner Sendcloud. This email contains a link to the return portal, where you can create a return label.
After cancellation, you have another 14 days to return the product at a PostNL point. You will receive the full order amount back, excluding any shipping costs to the customer. The product must be returned with all accessories and, if possible, in its original condition and packaging. We will refund the amount within 14 days of receiving the return shipment. For other European countries, a return fee applies, calculated via the Sendcloud link.
