This art object shows the view from the IJ. A panoramic scene of historical ships in the port of Amsterdam. This refined scene reflects the city's role in trade throughout the centuries. The classic city view is a tribute to the Amsterdam of the Golden Age.

About Royal Delft

Royal Delft is also known as Porceleyne Fles. This earthenware factory has been creating high-quality Delft Blue products since 1653. It is the only remaining 17^th-century earthenware factory in Delft that still produces traditionally hand-painted porcelain.
The artisanal painting is still central, but over time, various techniques have been added. For example, the transfer process is widely used, where an image is printed on the ceramic using a screen print. This creates a high-quality product that is more affordable than the hand-painted collection.
