Voilà is a toothpick holder that rolls. Lay it flat on the table, turn it one revolution in the direction of the arrows, and a single toothpick appears from the slot. You take that one; the rest stay inside.
Why that helps
With an ordinary pot everyone rummages between the toothpicks with their fingers. Here you only touch the one you take. The others stay clean inside the closed tube. At a table with guests that saves a good many doubtful looks.
After use Voilà rolls back to its starting position by itself — that is down to the shape, not to any mechanism. There is nothing that can jam or break.
On the table or in the drawer
Lying down it is a sixteen-centimetre roll of stainless steel that looks at home on the table beside the salt and pepper. Standing up it fits in a drawer or on the worktop. To refill, open the tube.

Voilà comes from Take2-Design in Rosenheim, Germany — the same brand as the Clack egg topper and the Bend-It salt and pepper set. Take2 makes household objects that solve a problem you would never have named as a problem, and do it with a wink.
