Tea Towel & Hand Towel in One | TwoTowel Mustard Yellow | Vij5

The TwoTowel is a hand towel and a tea towel in one cloth. Two kitchen towels that normally hang side by side are brought together here: a carefully built gradient in colour and in weave lets the two halves run into one another. A design by Anieke Branderhorst for the Dutch design label Vij5.

The loop marks the two halves

There is a loop in the middle of the cloth. Hang it from that and the two halves fall to either side, so you see at a glance that this is one cloth with two functions. Hung from the loop, the cloth reaches about 80 cm down.

Several producers said it could not be made

A tea towel and a hand towel are normally woven on two different machines. The TwoTowel has to be something of both, so it has to come off one machine. Several producers therefore called the design unproducible. Anieke Branderhorst, herself a co-founder of Vij5, worked it out technically with textile designer Jolijn Fiddelaers, and eventually a weaving mill in Turkey took on the experiment.

Vij5 is a Dutch design label of interior accessories, furniture and lighting. Arjan van Raadshoven and Anieke Branderhorst are its founders and put the collection together. When a concept appeals to them it is translated into something that can be produced, made with care for materials and by skilled craftspeople. We aim to deliver your order quickly. Orders placed on weekdays before 4 PM will be shipped the same day, unless otherwise stated. Sometimes delivery may be delayed, for example if a product is out of stock. In that case, we will inform you as soon as possible and you can cancel if you wish.

Within the Netherlands, shipping is free from €49,-, otherwise it costs €4,95. Returns cost €3,95. In Belgium and Germany, shipping is free from €69,-, otherwise it costs €4,95, and returns cost €4,95.

Returns within the Netherlands cost €3.95. You can cancel your order up to 14 days after receipt without giving a reason via the email from our shipping partner Sendcloud. This email contains a link to the return portal, where you can create a return label.
After cancellation, you have another 14 days to return the product at a PostNL point. You will receive the full order amount back, excluding any shipping costs to the customer. The product must be returned with all accessories and, if possible, in its original condition and packaging. We will refund the amount within 14 days of receiving the return shipment. For other European countries, a return fee applies, calculated via the Sendcloud link.
