About Wildlife Garden
Wildlife Garden is a Swedish brand that has been making wooden products for indoors and outdoors since 2005. From Båstad, surrounded by meadows, horse paddocks and beech woodland, Wildlife Garden still works from the same starting point as on day one: bringing craftsmanship, nature and timeless design together in products that spread joy. You will mainly find them in the Garden & Balcony category, from birdhouses such as the Multiholk and the feeding house to the bee nest.
From a walk to a company
After an accident, founder Helena Nobel took daily walks through the neighbourhood, looking at the gardens she passed. That is where the idea came from: birdhouses that are not only functional, but beautiful enough to bring a smile. Together with her husband Robert, a devoted birdwatcher, she started designing and testing in their own back garden. What began in a garage grew into a brand found in around a thousand shops worldwide.
Birdhouse and nest box in one
The first Multiholk was inspired by the traditional red-painted Swedish cottages and became a classic straight away. The clever part is the combination: in winter you use it to feed the birds, and in spring you take off the roof, add the extra floor and it becomes a nest box for sparrows and tits. On its launch, the Multiholk was named Garden Product of the Year at Elmia Garden, the largest horticultural fair in Scandinavia. The design was developed with the help of ornithologists, and it shows in the details: there are climbing ridges on the inside so the chicks can reach the exit hole, and the feed tray is enclosed so the birds cannot sit in the food and diseases do not spread. There are now countless versions, from a Swedish mountain cabin and a half-timbered house to a modern home in the style of the De Stijl art movement, with the lines and primary colours of Rietveld and Mondrian. Hang it on the wall or on the swivel arm, or place it in the middle of your garden on the metal pole.
From sketch to product
Every design starts as a sketch, then becomes a 3D model and only after that a product. The whole process happens in-house. Materials and paint are chosen carefully to keep the impact on the environment as small as possible, the packaging is sturdy cardboard, and Wildlife Garden supplies spare parts — so a birdhouse can be repaired rather than thrown away when something breaks.
From the garden to indoors
What began as products for outdoors has grown into a collection for the garden and the Interior alike. For the Hallway there are the coat hooks shaped like animals and the wooden key cabinet in the shape of a woodpecker. The same craftsmanship and the same playful shapes, only indoors.
