The Humble Lights brand was created from a collaboration between Jorren Teertstra and the four designers of the design team Ape Amsterdam. They had the idea to create a modern alternative for the ultimate mood lighting with a love for design and an aversion to cables: Candlelight.
During their search for the ideal lamp, they started making sketches and researching the technical possibilities for an easy, safe and more sustainable light source, which could replace candlelight. This is how the first design came into being: The Humble One. The name Humble was chosen as the name for the brand because of the friendly and unpretentious first design.
Humble One is the first energy-efficient battery lamp with an LED bulb. The technical possibilities were optimally used in this design. And it quickly became a favorite thanks to the long battery life and the characteristic atmospheric lamp.
The collection was then expanded with several new models, such as the Humble Two , Humble Bee and the Humble Bug . All models are available in different colours and designs.
The dimmable lighting provides a warm and comfortable atmosphere everywhere, even outdoors. Thanks to the silicone seals and the IP65 certification, the Humble lamps are also waterproof. The lamps can be operated with a remote control, whereby all lamps within a radius of 10 meters are controlled. The latest smart lamps can even be operated with your phone.
From their studio in the Amsterdam Houthavens, Humble continues to work with Ape Amsterdam on the development of new models and the application of new technologies. The goal is to build lamps that last a long time by using the most resilient components and materials. In addition, all Humble lamps are modular: if something ever breaks, all parts can be easily replaced. Sustainable and energy-efficient lighting for life!
