Birdybox Brass | Little House with Birdsong | Relaxound

The Birdybox is a small house with birdsong that responds to movement. This version has a front in brass. Walk past and the singing begins — twenty seconds long, and then it is quiet again.

Calming birdsong

A motion sensor triggers the sound of birds chirping. Like a walk in the woods, it brings a moment of calm in the middle of the day. It also responds when the light goes on or off. Suitable for any room at home or in the office — in the hall, the bathroom, and above all it is a success in the toilet.

A front in brass

The front is made of brass, with the warm golden tone the metal has by nature. Unlike the wooden versions it catches the light, so the box stands out against a dark surface or among other metal accessories. Brass slowly changes colour on contact with air, so in time it takes on a patina of its own.

Zwitscherbox or Birdybox

Both houses play the same bird concert. The Zwitscherbox plays the full two-minute recording; in the Birdybox that same recording is split into six fragments of twenty seconds, so you hear a different part each time. The Birdybox is also smaller and runs on a rechargeable battery rather than AA batteries.

1% for the planet

1% for the planet asks companies to contribute to protecting the environment. Relaxound donates 1% of its annual turnover to two environmental organisations. In Germany that is the Bergwaldprojekt, which works to preserve and care for the forest. In India, where the production facility is based, part of the donation goes to Sadhana Forest: an ecological project that refills groundwater reservoirs so that food can be grown and villagers do not have to move to the urban slums.
