Egg Topper Gift Set | Clack with 4 Egg Cups | Take2-Design

A gift set with everything you need for a boiled egg: a Clack egg topper with a white ceramic egg on top, and four white porcelain egg cups. Together in a sturdy presentation box, ready to give or to post.

What is a Clack

The Clack is an egg topper that opens the top of a boiled egg. Place the metal cap on the egg, lift the steel ball and let it drop. Clack! — a clean, round breaking line appears in the shell, along which you can now lift the top off neatly. The shell is not cut but broken, exactly in a ring. No more shattered shell or annoying fragments in your egg.

The word it all started with

In Germany this Clack is called an Eierschalensollbruchstellenverursacher: a causer of predetermined breaking points in eggshells. The word is half the fun in itself. It is printed on the box, and in small letters on the rod of the Clack. Both the word and the Clack itself are guaranteed to raise a laugh. Functional design with a sense of humour.

Four egg cups with it

The cups are called Cupido and are made of white porcelain. Four of them, so enough for a table laid on a Sunday morning or at Easter. The white matches the ceramic egg on the Clack and suits almost any tableware.

The original

The Clack was designed by Hartmut Dolp, Markus Roling and Volker Zitzmann for Take2-Design in Rosenheim, Germany. The versions differ in the top: wood, silicone, ceramic or metal. The ceramic eggs are painted by hand.

Made to be given

This set is meant as a gift, and you can tell from the box: sturdy, neatly finished, fit to post as it is. For a house move, a wedding, or the birthday of someone who has everything. If you would rather give a single egg topper we carry a range of versions — from a bee to a dragon, from pear wood to rose gold. To make it complete, add the Mosquito egg piercer, which keeps the egg from cracking as it boils.
