The Egglamp is a lamp made from a real eggshell. You screw it into an ordinary E27 fitting, just like a bulb, and as soon as it comes on the shell lights up from within. Since no two eggs are the same, every Egglamp is different – which makes each one unique.
Warm light through a brown shell
The brown version gives a soft, warm light. Once it is lit, the irregularities in the shell become visible. Sometimes the original stamp on the egg still shows through.
If you are after a brighter, crisper light, have a look at the white version.
A perfect match with the EggboxLamp
The Egglamp fits any lamp with a standard E27 fitting. To complete the concept there is the concrete EggboxLamp: a table lamp shaped like an egg carton, available in five colours. Together they make for a quirky lamp that visitors always remark on.

About Egglamp
Egglamp grew out of a collaboration between Nando Bennis and the artist Ruben de Haas, who brought the concept to market in 2024. The lamps are made from organic eggs from local farmers, or from organic supermarket eggs past their date that would otherwise be thrown away. On larger production runs the contents of the eggs go to local bakeries, which turn them into pastries. Nothing goes to waste.
