Egglamp | Egg Lamps Made of Real Eggs

About Egglamp

Egglamp is a lamp made from a real egg, designed by the Dutch designer Ruben de Haas. He first showed it during Dutch Design Week 2023 at Piet Hein Eek. Since no two eggs are the same, no two lamps are either: the texture of the shell comes out beautifully once the light is on, and sometimes the original stamp is still visible. The egg stands for a fresh start, for essence and for growth, which makes it a gift with meaning.

Organic eggs

The lamps are made from organic free-range eggs from local farmers, or from organic supermarket eggs past their date that would otherwise be thrown away. On larger orders the contents of the eggs go to bakeries, which turn them into pastries. Nothing goes to waste.

Two bulbs and five table lamps

The Egglamp is made by hand from white and brown eggs. The brown one gives a soft, warm light in which the natural irregularities show, the white one a brighter and crisper light. Alongside them is the EggboxLamp: a table lamp that looks like an egg carton for four eggs, but is cast from a kilo of concrete. It comes in five colours: Classic, Mint, Sky, Rosé and Corn. Pair it with a white or brown Egglamp and you have a concrete lamp with a bulb made from a real egg. You will find more lamps in the Lighting category.
