Lexon Flip Classic Digital Alarm Clock | Rechargeable | Dark Grey

The Flip Classic by Lexon is a digital alarm clock you turn over to switch the alarm on and off. ON side up and the alarm is set, OFF side up and it is off. No menu, no hunting for a button in the dark: you see at a glance whether it will go off in the morning. Tap it and the display lights up for four seconds — that same tap is the snooze.

In your suitcase, without going off

For travelling, the Classic has a lock. Press the power button three times and the alarm and the display light switch off while the time keeps running — the screen then shows two dashes. That way it will not go off unexpectedly in your backpack, and the time and alarm time are still set when you release it again. The same button, held for three seconds, switches it off completely.

A design that has lasted more than ten years

The Flip comes from the British designers Adrian and Jeremy Wright and won the Red Dot “Best of the Best”. This Classic is the revised version of the Flip+: the same reversible idea, but with a rechargeable battery and a display you can dim yourself.

Charging twice a year

The battery charges over USB-C and is full in four hours. After that it lasts up to six months, depending on how often you tap for the light. The display shows how much charge is left, so it will not run out unexpectedly. The USB-C cable is included, the adapter is not.

Three brightness levels, and the date too

You can set the brightness of the screen to three levels, from just readable to clearly visible. The screen is off by default: it only lights up when you tap it, and goes out again after four seconds. That way there is no distracting light on your bedside table at night, but you can see the time whenever you want to. Besides the time, you can also show the date.
