Remember Design Pocket Umbrella | Rondo

The folding Rondo umbrella by the German brand Remember is a compact umbrella that opens and closes automatically. It stands out through its outspoken design and bright colours. The canopy is covered in circles of different sizes, each one built up from coloured rings. The colourful pattern makes for a cheerful bright spot, even in the heaviest downpour.

Open and shut at the push of a button

One press of the button and the umbrella springs open. Another press and it closes again. That may sound like a small detail, but it is what keeps you dry as you get into the car or unlock your front door: you keep one hand free for your bag, your keys or the car door. After that you push the shaft together by hand and slide the umbrella into the sleeve it comes with, in a matching pattern.

The Rondo pattern

Rondo is the only pattern with nothing to do with the ribs. Circles of all sizes lie scattered across the whole canopy, and each circle is itself made up of several rings in a colour combination of its own. Where the other patterns follow the shape of the umbrella, Rondo runs straight across it — which is why, folded up, you see a different piece of the pattern every time.

Small enough for your bag

Closed, the umbrella is 29 cm long and 5.5 cm across. Small enough for a handbag, a backpack or a roomy coat pocket. That way you always have an umbrella with you, and a shower never catches you out again. Open it measures 58 cm in length with a 100 cm span: enough for one person with the umbrella in one hand and a bag in the other. There is a rubber wrist strap on the handle.
