The EggboxLamp has the shape of an egg carton for four eggs, except it is cast from a kilo of concrete. Appearances deceive: what looks like throwaway packaging is a heavy, solid object. Corn is the soft yellow of the maize carton from the supermarket, and the cheeriest of the five.
Pair it with an Egglamp
The table lamp comes as a base with an E27 fitting, so without a bulb. Screw in a brown Egglamp for a soft warm light, or a white Egglamp for a brighter effect. Only then is the concept complete: a concrete lamp with a bulb made from a real egg.
Handmade Dutch design
The EggboxLamp was designed by Ruben de Haas and is cast by hand. On the underside are rubber anti-slip pads, so it will not scratch your table or sideboard. There are five colours, inspired by the egg cartons you see on supermarket shelves.

About Egglamp
Egglamp grew out of a collaboration between Nando Bennis and the artist Ruben de Haas, who brought the concept to market in 2024 alongside the EggboxLamp. The lamps are made from organic eggs from local farmers, or from organic supermarket eggs past their date that would otherwise be thrown away. On larger production runs the contents of the eggs go to local bakeries, which turn them into pastries. Nothing goes to waste.
