Lexon Mina | Rechargeable LED Lamps and Wake-up Light

About the Mina

The Mina is a rechargeable lamp from the French design brand Lexon, designed by Manuela Simonelli and Andrea Quaglio: a mushroom shape with an aluminium base and a plastic shade. This cordless lamp comes in three sizes. On the two larger ones — Medium and Large — the whole top of the lamp doubles as the button for the light. Press to switch on, press again for the next colour, hold to dim. No cable, no switch round the back, nothing to hunt for in the dark.

Which size goes where

The Small is 8.3 centimetres tall, gives warm or cool white light and runs for up to twelve hours. It is not water resistant. A little lamp for the bedside table, a bookshelf or the dining table indoors. Its button sits under the base.

The Medium is 11.1 centimetres tall, has nine light colours and runs for up to twenty-four hours. It is splash-proof to IPX4, so it can come out onto the balcony or the garden table.

The Large, at 17.8 centimetres, is the biggest, and at 65 lumens it gives enough light for a dining table or a reading corner. Nine colours as well, splash-proof as well, and charged over USB-C or wirelessly on a QI charger.

And then there is the Sunrise

The Mina Sunrise is not a lamp but an alarm clock. Half an hour before your waking time the light travels from deep blue to warm white, so you wake to light rather than to a sound. In the evening it goes the other way, from orange to red. It has the same nine light colours and five natural alarm sounds. All Lexon alarm clocks are gathered in a collection of their own.
