Satellitebox Blackbird | Little House with Birdsong | Relaxound

The Satellitebox is a small house with the sound of a single bird, or another calming sound from nature. This version plays the song of the blackbird. It has a front in soft yellow acrylic, a colour that suits the blackbird's cheerful song. Walk past and the singing begins — a minute long, and then it is quiet again. The sensor also responds to light. The Satellitebox charges over a USB-C cable.

The blackbird

The song of the blackbird was voted the finest sound in nature in the Netherlands. It sings best at sunrise and at dusk, from a chimney or a high branch. It is one of the few birds you hear in almost every garden — which is probably why the sound feels familiar straight away.

On its own or with the Zwitscherbox

The Satellitebox has the same shape as the Zwitscherbox, only smaller. Where the Zwitscherbox plays a whole wood, the Satellitebox Blackbird plays the sound of a single bird. Use it on its own, or combine it with the Zwitscherbox: then you hear the wood, with your own favourite bird above it. Spread a few around the room and you have a soundscape of your own.

1% for the planet

1% for the planet asks companies to contribute to protecting the environment. Relaxound donates 1% of its annual turnover to two environmental organisations. In Germany that is the Bergwaldprojekt, which works to preserve and care for the forest. In India, where the production facility is based, part of the donation goes to Sadhana Forest: an ecological project that refills groundwater reservoirs so that food can be grown and villagers do not have to move to the urban slums.
