Satellitebox Song Thrush Oak | Little House with Birdsong | Relaxound

The Satellitebox is a small house with the sound of a single bird, or another calming sound from nature. This version plays the song of the song thrush and has a front in real oak. Walk past and the singing begins — a minute long, and then it is quiet again. The sensor also responds to light. The Satellitebox charges over a USB-C cable.

The song thrush

The song thrush is known for one habit: it repeats every phrase two to four times before moving on to the next. It sings from a high branch or a rooftop, and on mild days it starts as early as January — one of the first birds you hear in the new year. It cracks snails open on a favourite stone, its “anvil”, with the empty shells left scattered around it.

A front in real wood

The front is made of real oak, not veneer or a printed wood effect. The grain of the natural wood runs differently on every one, so no two Satelliteboxes are quite alike. It is the same wood as the Zwitscherbox in oak. Together they make a fine pair if you want to use them side by side.

On its own or with the Zwitscherbox

The Satellitebox has the same shape as the Zwitscherbox, only smaller. Where the Zwitscherbox plays a whole wood, the Satellitebox Song Thrush plays the sound of a single bird. Use it on its own, or combine it with the Zwitscherbox: then you hear the wood, with your own favourite bird above it. Spread a few around the room and you have a soundscape of your own.

1% for the planet

1% for the planet asks companies to contribute to protecting the environment. Relaxound donates 1% of its annual turnover to two environmental organisations. In Germany that is the Bergwaldprojekt, which works to preserve and care for the forest. In India, where the production facility is based, part of the donation goes to Sadhana Forest: an ecological project that refills groundwater reservoirs so that food can be grown and villagers do not have to move to the urban slums.
